News & Events

The JWA annual concert will be in the auditorium at Chatswood RSL Club on Monday September 20, 6:30pm. Students and families will get details in their lessons and by email. Tickets now available, $5 for parents and friends. Performers don't pay.
August - September is a busy time for bands from JWA, lots of performances for different groups. There are also some great workshops these holidays. Check out the "coming up" section below!
JWA Advance Combo and Big Band have been invited to perform on the John Speight Stage on Manly Corso in the weeks before the Manly Jazz Festival as part of a promotion for the festival. combo is playing Sunday September 19, and Big Band on Sunday September 26.
JWA teacher James Ryan (saxophone) and his band The Subterraneans have just released a fantastic new CD. Congratulations! Available for purchase at JWA.
Diamond Award for JWA Big Band. The JWA Big Band has been awarded a Diamond rating at the Yamaha Festival in the A Grade Stage Band section, the highest possible for an outstanding level of performance. Congratulations!!
JWA combos Clean sweep at Sydney Eisteddfod! Combos from Jazz Workshop have finished First, Second and Third in the Open Age jazz band section at the Sydney Eisteddfod. Advanced Combo came ever so close to repeating their perfect score of last year. Congratulations everyone in all the combos!
