17 outstanding young musicians, ages 15 to 19, were selected, by audition, to form a big band to represent JWA on this international performance tour. They come from Sydney, regional NSW, the ACT and New Zealand. This talented group will perform in a wide range of memorable venues, as well as participating in workshops and masterclasses with some of the world's most famous jazz artists. They will hear and see, close up, the world's best musicians in action. The band will be recording a CD in New York at the end of the tour.
This unique tour takes in famous sights, but also presents an opportunity to experience a unique view from "backstage", seeing and doing things most jazz fans can only dream of.
